I was very happy to teach at David Parker's - Bujinkan Bexley Dōjō's 12th Anniversary celebration on Sunday, 27th July 2025.
We practiced - Kukishinden-ryu Dakentaijutsu (九鬼神流打拳体術) Shoden Gata (初伝型) techniques:
Seion (生音 - sound of life)
Yume Otoshi (夢落 - dream drop)
Suiyoku (水翼 - water wing)
Suisha (水車 - water wheel)
We paid particular attention to the small points of technique, which make them very complete and effective. We also examined how the Kyūsho (急所 vital point) are correctly attacked.
We then moved on to practice:
Kukishin-ryū Bikenjutsu (九鬼神流秘剣術 - secret sword art)
Seigan no Kamae (正眼之構 - correct eye posture)
Daijōdan no Kamae (大上段之構 - large upper level posture)
Chūdan no Kamae (中段之構– mid level posture)
Gedan no Kamae (下段之構 – lower level posture)
We practiced: thrusts from 'Chūdan no Kamae' and downward cuts from 'Daijōdan no Kamae' and the strategies for using them.
We then practiced:
Tsukigake (突掛 thrust and trap)
and very briefly:
Tsukikomi (附込 - thrust in)
My congratulations to David and all of the Dōjō members and thanks to Amy Douglas for kindly taking the photos.
